Holy Week 2025 saw Catholic communities across Jamaica uniting in solemnity and celebration as they journeyed through Christ’s Passion, death, and Resurrection. In Montego Bay and beyond, parishioners filled churches and streets with processions, prayer services, and profound expressions of faith.

On Good Friday, dioceses held ecumenical walks and outdoor Stations of the Cross, where the cross was physically carried through city streets. Bishop Burchell McPherson joined parishioners in a moving public devotion that reminded all who witnessed it of the love and sacrifice of Jesus.

“The cross is not just a symbol—it is the very center of our salvation,” said one participant in Savanna-la-Mar.

With vibrant liturgies and strong community turnout, the week served as a deep spiritual reset. In parishes from rural St. Elizabeth to bustling Montego Bay, the faithful embraced Holy Week not as routine, but as a transformative encounter with Christ.
